Nyoro~n at Anime Next 2009

So, some of our staff went to AN this year, to laugh at all the fail cosplayers and to have some laughs. Highlights included being chased down a hallway by screaming fanboys asking “ARE YOU LOLFANG?” and “IS LOLFANG A BOY OR GIRL?” and “IS LOLFANG SINGLE?”. I think my favorite question of the weekend was “OMG ARE YOU AND LOLFANG A COUPLE?” to which I responded “Yes”. People, oh people. <3 If it weren't so creepy, I would have been flattered by the guy who followed me back to my hotel from the Gurren Laggan screening claiming that because he actually met me in person and was a fan of this site, that we must be destined to be together. Err....yeah. It was a convention, what do you expect? xD

I was kind of sad that no one recognized who I was cosplaying as, though. So instead I’ll picspam up some pictures of me around the con and give a cookie to ANYONE who can name my cosplay (character AND series) that I was in most of the weekend. If anyone else was at AN, holler! <3

The files are exactly the same ones released before, this is just a torrent to help clean up our torrent page a bit.

As for other projects, I’m continuing to translate and make scripts and raws for all of our projects, but it appears Shami’s computer is acting up, so she hasn’t been available to offer her amazing editing/karaoke/awesomeness to any of our projects for a while. I’m sure she’ll return before long though, and then we’ll cram a whole lot of anime goodness down the pipes again!

Gurren Lagann Movie Version: Gurren Chapter Status

DVD is in hand now, work is underway!
For veterans of Gurren Lagann this movie will be a lot of stuff you have already seen, but it is a very succinct summary of the first half of the show, and the final half hour or so is completely new animation, with a twist on the battles with the 3 generals, Cytomander, Adiane, and Guame. Also the introduction will look familiar to those who watched the Gurren Lagann Parallel Works

Sorry this is taking as long as it is, the script is largely done, just a little more to go, I just have to sit down and make some time to do it, however classes and golden week plans are delaying completion a bit.

Lately our anti-spam filter hasn’t been working so great. Two spammers got in and posted all kinds of porn. So to prevent this from ever happening again (it wasn’t even good porn, dammit!) I’ve decided to make it so that I must personally authorize and activate all new accounts. I’ve also purged the forum and have gotten rid of all the inactive / lurking users (seriously, no point in joining if you aren’t going to post since you can see everything without an account).

Hope this doesn’t offend anyone too much. <3

Sorry the translation is taking a little longer than usual, this episode has a ton of translator-note worthy lines. I’m trying to find the best way to translate the tricky lines so everyone gets what’s going on without using notes. Y’all know about Takoyaki, Nichiren, Issunboushi, and Khakkhara right…
