Elly here, re-vamping Nyoro~n in hopes that Lolfang will get off his ass and release some new Lamune soon. As far as I’ve seen, the Eva 2.2.2 project is on hiatus until Fang can figure out how to encode from Blu-Ray. Until then, look forward to some NG Knight Lamune & 40 goodies, hopefully coming soon.

Sorry guys, it’s my fault the releases have been slow, I’m kind of like the Yoko Ono to his John Lennon and this site is pretty much The Beatles. So if you want someone to yell at, direct it here >____<

New HDD is here, everything seems to be in working order, still getting stuff installed. Hope this drive lasts a nice long time.

Any bets on what’ll go next? I’m thinking either the memory or video card, myself.

P.S. Downloading and installing 5 years worth of Windows updates is a bitch to go through. The thunderstorms interrupting everything makes it worse. Stupid weather. Stupid Windows. I’d use ubuntu if it actually recognized my wireless card.

Rebuild of Evangelion 2.22 Status

It’s that time again! Also special thanks once again to Gainax for including a script as a special feature on the DVD.

Raw acquisition: Work raw from DVD attained, Blu-ray raw ripping underway (experiencing difficulties).
Translation: script creation underway, .ass file 25% complete, 80% complete in my head.

Hope this goes quickly, I’m actually pretty psyched to be doing something from Blu Ray, especially if it’s this movie. This movie is better than End of Evangelion in my opinion, so I hope you guys wind up liking it as much as I do.

Nyoro~n's 3rd aniversary!

I can’t believe I’ve been doing this that long.

At any rate, happy birthday to us! It seems like forever ago I subbed the first episode of Gurren Lagann… badly.

Anyway, thanks to all of you who still come despite our inactivity. I plan on doing more Lamune soon, and we were playing with the idea of picking up the new Romance of the Three Kingdoms based SD Gundam series, provided we can get decent raws, so that’s something. I’ve also been working on an ultimate Gurren Lagann Movie pack, including both movies and over 2 hours of related bonus material. Eventually we’ll get those 00 batches we’re missing out and stuff.

Basically we’re doing a lot, but not getting a lot of it done, such is life.

Keep frosty Nyoron fans, there is more content coming, I promise, k?

Sup Nyoron fans… It’s been a while.
I’ve been busy with a number of things but haven’t forgotten about this place!
I return bringing you all new Lamune, although this is one of my least favorite episodes (the animation is atrocious), there’s still a lot to like about it! I’ll be getting back to work on Lamune in earnest, Episode 5 is one of my favorites from the entire show, <3 Ceyloam so fucking hard.

Looking for Avisynth Karaoke / Subtitling Editor

Hey there,
We’ve got a lot of releases on the back-burner because we’re dreadfully behind on AviSynth editing, and so we are looking to add one (or a few) staff members to our team to work with us on current and future releases. Applicants must be proficient in AviSynth, and must be able to create advanced karaoke effects. In particular, the applicant should have ample time to devote in working on Nyoron projects. Anyone looking to join the team should e-mail elly@reisei-sa.net with their contact information and a bit about themselves, as well as an example of some of their subtitling/karaoke effects work. 8/13: Lulz, a few hours after I thought “Well hey, at least I can work on stuff offline,” a thunderstorm rolled in. It’s been like that a lot this summer: one minute it’s all nice and sunny and the next there’s a storm blowing over trees and knocking out the power. It’s been a rough past few months— well, for me, anyway— with problems constantly arising and all, but it looks like that’s almost all resolved now. Computer and internet are working again, so yay. Maybe we can get things rolling again, yes? And once again, I apologize for suddenly disappearing and all the delays it’s caused.

Priorities for me will be GLM first and 00 batches second, with MG and NG most likely showing up every now and then. And KO should be in there at some point too.

Sorry for disappearing and all the delays it caused. Shitty internet connection and thunderstorms are still messing with things.

Hoping everything will be resolved in about a week, if the internet people aren’t as bad as the cable people.

I expect there’ll be a bunch of stuff to catch up on. Again, sorry for the delays.

EDIT 8/8: Thunderstorms seem to have passed, and it’s probably late enough in the season now that if anymore come through, they won’t be back-to-back, day after day, knocking out my power and making me constantly reset my alarm clock. The internet, however, is still iffy. While I guess you could say I’m connected, it’s slower than dial-up was 15 years ago, so mostly all I get are Connection Timed Out messages. Hell, it took like 10 minutes to get to the update page. But still hoping for a complete fix sometime this coming week. I imagine the internet company has quite a few people upset with them right now.

~~Ah well, at least I can work on some of the stuff I have without fear of the power going out.~~

NG Knight Lamune & 40 - 01

I’m not dead! Here’s a new project as proof.

NG Knight Lamune & 40 is a super robot/comedy anime from the early 90s that I’ve fallen in love with. NG Knight Lamune & 40 was the first of four anime produced in Japan that make up the “Two letter series” The others are KO Century: Three Beast Warriors (another of our projects), Saber Marionette J which some of you may be familiar with, and VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire. I hereby announce my intention to sub all of these series with the exception of Saber Marrionette J, which I feel had a good English adaptation in the United States. Lamune starts off a little childish, but quickly ramps into high gear becoming a comedy adventure worthy of adult attention. The OVAs, which I’ll get to once all of the television series is completes, are quite adult in more ways than one~

As this series goes on I’ll include short translator’s note like materials along with the episode on the site here like I have for this one, explaining the many nuances that many people will not catch watching the show, along with in depth translations of the character Da-Cider’s puns, as groan-worthy as some of them are. Now as for those of you waiting for our Might Gaine and KO Beast releases as well as our final version of the Gurren Lagann movie, I have to apologize to you. My dear friend and partner in these projects, Shami, has been missing from the internet for about two months now, and I have no means to contact her. My belief is that her computer has become unusable, and that she has no means of replacing it. I have hopes that she will return eventually however, and until that time comes, Might Gaine and Gurren Lagann will be placed on hold. We started these projects together, and I intend for us to finish them together.

However, Lamune has been more of a personal interest of mine from the start, and for now I’m going to handle this project solo, which means no fancy karaoke or top notch typesetting and quality control, which Shami always brought to the table. However, I’ll do my best to make the show the best viewing experience possible, and I hope you’ll watch along, as this is one of my favorite anime ever produced. Should Shami be interested when she returns, we will re-release the episodes I will produce in the meantime with excellent karaoke and all the other shinyness you’ve come to expect from us.

Sit back and enjoy the show, you’re in for a hell of a ride!

Nyoro~n at Anime Next 2009

So, some of our staff went to AN this year, to laugh at all the fail cosplayers and to have some laughs. Highlights included being chased down a hallway by screaming fanboys asking “ARE YOU LOLFANG?” and “IS LOLFANG A BOY OR GIRL?” and “IS LOLFANG SINGLE?”. I think my favorite question of the weekend was “OMG ARE YOU AND LOLFANG A COUPLE?” to which I responded “Yes”. People, oh people. <3 If it weren't so creepy, I would have been flattered by the guy who followed me back to my hotel from the Gurren Laggan screening claiming that because he actually met me in person and was a fan of this site, that we must be destined to be together. Err....yeah. It was a convention, what do you expect? xD

I was kind of sad that no one recognized who I was cosplaying as, though. So instead I’ll picspam up some pictures of me around the con and give a cookie to ANYONE who can name my cosplay (character AND series) that I was in most of the weekend. If anyone else was at AN, holler! <3

As for other projects, I’m continuing to translate and make scripts and raws for all of our projects, but it appears Shami’s computer is acting up, so she hasn’t been available to offer her amazing editing/karaoke/awesomeness to any of our projects for a while. I’m sure she’ll return before long though, and then we’ll cram a whole lot of anime goodness down the pipes again!

Gurren Lagann Movie Version: Gurren Chapter Status

For veterans of Gurren Lagann this movie will be a lot of stuff you have already seen, but it is a very succinct summary of the first half of the show, and the final half hour or so is completely new animation, with a twist on the battles with the 3 generals, Cytomander, Adiane, and Guame. Also the introduction will look familiar to those who watched the Gurren Lagann Parallel Works

Lately our anti-spam filter hasn’t been working so great. Two spammers got in and posted all kinds of porn. So to prevent this from ever happening again (it wasn’t even good porn, dammit!) I’ve decided to make it so that I must personally authorize and activate all new accounts. As for Nyoro~n, we will not be subbing any of the new television series this season, but we’ll be happy to discuss them with you on our forum (looking forward to the new Mazinger and Fullmetal series myself). Future releases for us will be:
